A rare Victorian novelty silver Propelling Pencil made in the form of a Tennis Racket, with gilded strings and attached suspension ring. The pencil is extended by twisting the ribbed handle.

Complete with contemporary silk and velvet lined leather case with gilded initials 'D.B.C' and dated 1889.
