Literature
Mordans' seamless non-choke Match Box is described in the contemporary advert as ""something quiet different from the ordinary matchbox"". The body being made from one piece of silver only, instead of with the soldered gating usual in common designs, gives extra match room and prevents the annoyance of the contents catching beneath the gating and sometimes firing.

Wanklyn's Patent turbine striker, fitted to these boxes, rotates automatically and cleans itself. It can be used equally well in wet or dry weather.
