An extremely rare early 19th century Scottish Provincial or Newcastle made silver Wine Label of plain crescent form with very pronounced peak, incised and niello filled for RUM.

Maker’s mark only – ‘PL’, for Peter Lambert of Montrose, Aberdeen, Dundee or Berwick on Tweed (Newcastle) c1820. See: Wine Labels 1730-2003, edited by John Salter fig 893 page 267 for a similar example for WHISKY.
