A fine quality and extremely rare Victorian novelty silver Propelling Pencil made in the form of a Mussel Shell with attached suspension ring, the two halves realistically engraved as the shell with a gilded section separating the two halves.

Also stamped with a diamond registration mark for 29th July 1876
