A late 19th century patented American sterling silver and enamel novelty Stamp Case made in the form of an Envelope. The front enamelled with a 2 cent stamp and a Cincinnati cancellation mark for 1891. The reverse enamelled with a received mark for 10.16.91. The cover engraved with a name and address for Mr D H Sowers ?, Columbus, Ohio. The silver gilt interior stamped : Sterling and the Patent mark for June 24 1890.

Almost certainly by Gorham Manufacturing Co, New York, c1891.
