An unusual and fine quality Victorian silver gilt Trick Opening Vesta Case, of rounded rectangular form with panels of engine turned decoration to the front, back and sides. A central circular cartouche engraved with a cypher of a Ducal Coronet above a capital letter N.

The case is opened by pushing on the end with the striker which operates a sprung mechanism fanning out bi-fold covers to the opposite end.
