About

STEPPES HILL FARM ANTIQUES was founded by William (Billy) Buck over fifty years ago. About twenty years later he was joined in the business by his two eldest sons; David and Christopher. Billy’s first love was early English porcelain, but he also specialised in collectable silver. David concentrates on the silver side and is responsible for putting this web site together. Christopher, as well as being a partner in Steppes Hill Farm, has his own business dealing in fine Georgian furniture and accessories.

Over the years we have been privileged to have formed a number of well known private collections of both Ceramics and Silver and as well as building friendly long term personal relationships with our clients, we also regard the academic approach as all important.

This web site only represents a small selection of our stock which usually encompasses early English porcelain from 1745 including Chelsea, Bow, Worcester, Longton Hall and Lowestoft through to Regency porcelain from the Worcester, Spode, Derby, Nantgarw and Swansea factories up to about 1830.

In silver our specialities are Collectors’ Items including Wine Labels, Caddy Spoons, Snuff Boxes, Vinaigrettes, Vesta Cases, Card Cases etc, as well as Scottish and Irish silver.

We can assure you that our main criteria is only to sell the best of quality from all categories, and we always endeavour to discuss and advise clients on all aspects of collecting silver and ceramics.

We have been members of The British Antique Dealers’ Association since 1976, and Billy was Country Vice President and served on the council of the association for far too long!

We very much look forward to hearing from new and old clients via this web site.
