A very fine and rare Victorian novelty silver and 2-colour gold Vinaigrette made in the form of a Roman Wine Ewer, of small size and opening at the shoulder, with 2-colour gold decoration applied as an undulating foliate stem around the body and an echoing geometric pattern around the lid. The interior hinged silver gilt grille with three rows of six holes and some scrolling below.

Fully marked on the base of the foot with date letter and lion passant inside the lid and also marked on the grille.
