Provenance
*Possibly for Margaret, Viscountess Arbuthnot (married 1805 - died 1879). The Arbuthnot estate is located between Montrose & Stonehaven, within reasonable proximity of Ellon.

It is most likely that due to its form & construction this vinaigrette was made in Birmingham. It could then have been purchased & retailed by John Mackie, a watchmaker. This was often the case with small items ie. wine labels at this period.
