Silver Paperweights

Arising out of the need to prevent paper from moving about in the breeze, decorative paperweights reflected the rising popularity of letter-writing for leisure among the upper classes in the nineteenth century, and became a must-have accessory to the writing desk. Though they are mostly known for being crafted from fine glass, there are some excellent examples of paperweights made from antique silver. Steppes Hill Farm Antique stocks a fine collection of antique silver paperweights, dating from the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian eras, which are ideal for collectors of both paperweights and of antique silver. We are glad to offer our expert advice on the collecting and purchasing of any of our collectibles for sale.
