Antique Scottish Silver

Besides having some of the finest English antique silver available for sale, Steppes Hill Farm Antiques also has a number of high quality antique Scottish silver collectables available. Scottish provincial silver is also a speciality. Over the years Scottish provincial silver has become very collectable and highly sought after. From 1784, after which duty had to be paid, most provincial silver was not presented for hallmarking to the Edinburgh or Glasgow assay offices but was marked only with the maker’s initials and a punch usually inspired by the town symbol. Our Scottish silver antiques are sourced from makers across the country, from the industrial city of Glasgow up to the reaches of Aberdeen, and we are happy to provide further details on any of our Scottish silver antique items.
