Derby Landscape Plate - View near Edinburgh

A very fine Derby Landscape ""Named View"" Plate, depicting a view near Edinburgh, the central cavetto painted in the style of George Robertson and depicting two figures on a rocky landscape scene pointing towards the city buildings on top of a high hill, with a river and two oak trees in the foreground, all within an elaborate gilt border with reserves of exotic birds alternating with oak leaves, gilt line rims.

Red Crown and cross batons mark. c1800 - 1820.
