A rare rectangular Lowestoft Tea Canister with sloping shoulders, a circular opening above a short cylindrical neck ( the cover lacking) and a flat rectangular base. Moulded with narrow vertical ribs and decorated in a formal floral design, incorporating flowering small -leaved stems on the sides and two less formal sprays on the shoulders, copying the Meissen 'Immortelle' pattern. The upper and lower boundaries of the ribbing, and the four vertical edges are painted with a blue line and above this line at the base is a continuous string of rounded clumps of dashes. A blue line also encircles the neck.
