A rare Victorian novelty silver Vinaigrette made in the form of a Walnut, with attached suspension ring. The exterior naturalistically textured, hinged at the centre and opening to reveal a silver gilt interior with intricately pierced grille stamped with the makers name.
Fully hallmarked to lid, base and grille, by Sampson Mordan & Co, London, 1880
