An extremely fine and rare Victorian silver triple compartment Stamp Box, of rounded rectangular form standing on four bun feet, the hinged lid opening to reveal a silver gilt interior with three sprung compartments, the lid enamelled with three stamps from the Queen Victoria Jubilee issue, a 1d lilac, a 3d purple on yellow and a 6d purple on rose-red. The interior lid with contemporary engraved script initials.

Provenance: The "Paris" Collection of Stamp Boxes, sold by Christie's 10th December 2002 Lot 111.

This is the only known example of a Victorian silver Stamp Box enamelled with these higher value stamps.
