A Victorian silver 'Castle-Top' Pill Box of shaped rectangular form with engine turned and scrolled decoration to the base and sides, the cover engraved with a scene depicting the Crystal Palace in London. The hinged lid opening to reveal with silver gilt interior, a cartouche to the reverse engraved with a slightly later presentation inscription; 'James Booth, a present from his weavers, Saltaire 1858'.

Made to commemorate the Great Exhibition of 1851.

Saltaire Village is near Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It is named after Sir Titus Salt who built a textile mill, known as Salts Mill and this village on the River Aire. Designed by architects, Lockwood and Mawson, Saltaire has beautiful Italianate architecture and a rich history. Saltaire Village was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.
