A rare Victorian silver gilt mounted green glass Inkwell of 'Tea Kettle' Syphon form. The hinged lid made in the form of a Coronet of a Marquess and opening to reveal the makers stamp medallion. The spout also with a hinged silver gilt lid.

In good condition with no damage or repair, the lid hinge just a little wobbly and a couple of flea bite chips to the glass.

Once full of ink the syphon inkwell retains a permanent level of ink in the spout that is replenished by atmospheric pressure.
