Literature The contemporary S.Mordan & Co advert illustrated dates from 1843 and describes Cooper's Patent Scent-Bottles thus; The advantages derived from this invention are, that the stopper, from its spherical form, can neither stick nor break in the neck; the stopper being glass never corrodes; they are so perfectly air-tight that they will preserve Ether or Ammonia any length of time, and they cause much less trouble in use, the act of removing the cap and stopper being only one operation; they are more durable, from their superiority, both in workmanship and material.
