An extremely rare Victorian novelty silver and enamel telescopic Propelling Pencil made in the form of an early Pillar / Post Box with crown finial and enamel collection times sign. Also engraved with the Royal Cypher 'VR', for Victoria Regina.
Unmarked but almost certainly by Sampson Mordan, c1870.
100 mm open.
57 mm closed.
