A rare 17th century silver travelling Inkwell, Penner and Seal of tubular form with screw-off lid applied with and engraved armorial seal. The Inkwell also unscrewing to reveal the quill compartment. The lid reversing and screwing onto the base to facilitate the use of the Seal. The body engraved with a full coat of arms and a crest.

Maker's mark only 'C E' in a shield shaped punch. English c1680. Also engraved with contemporary initials - 'E.H.'

Provenance: Purchased from Brian Beet 1995.

Condition
In good condition with just a few minor abrasions and scratches. The Inkwell probably lacking a stopper.
