A mid 20th century Arts & Crafts style silver two handled Cup of tapering form with two scroll handles, the body decorated with orange enamel flower heads and raised beaded border. Complete with a letter from Mr Gow's daughter to the owner's father, a doctor, who had helped the family with an elderly relative.

John Ferguson Gow was a dentist and an accomplished silversmith and enameller who worked in the Arts & Crafts style.
Much of his work was unusually carried out during the second World War when he was in his late 50's. He died in 1970 aged 84. A number of his pieces can be found in London churches such as St James's in Piccadilly.
