An early 20th century Continental 14 carat gold and enamel novelty telescopic Propelling Pencil, formed as an Egyptian Mummy. The body decorated with hieroglyphics in multi-coloured enamels. Attached marked suspension ring - 14CR.

Probably made in Germany c1900, but also possibly made in Egypt in the 1920's following the discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamen.
