Early George IV 15 crt Gold Sliding Propelling Pencil

Sampson Mordan & Co 1824
Photo 1 of 8

A rare and early George IV 15 carat gold (tested) sliding Propelling Pencil with reeded body and slider ring, the fixed seal terminal set with a plain chalcedony stone.

Stamped: S Mordan & Co's Patent c1824 - 1830.

The style of the pencil and the early maker's stamp plus the fixed finial and no lead reservoir would suggest an early c1824 date for this pencil.
