A good late 19th century French comical silver gilt Vesta Case of shaped rectangular form, the hinged lid with inset enamel panel depicting a horse & cart accident with the legend - "Result Of Having Too Much Steam Up", the interior lid with an enamel panel depicting a French harbour scene. The base engraved with a monogram below an heraldic crest depicting an Eagle's Head erased.

Marked with French small Guarantee Mark.
Also stamped with retailers mark of Clark, 20 Old Bond Street, London.
