A George III silver Wine Label of domed rectangular form with cut corners and double reeded border, incised for Port below an engraved crest with a garter, motto and the initials BW.
The motto engraved on the garter Virtutis Fortuna Comes (fortune favours the brave) is that of the Duke of Wellington (Arthur Wellesley), however the crest of a demi lion rampant issuing out of a coronet is similar to, but not identical to the crest of Wellington.
By Josiah Snatt, London, 1801.
