George III Armorial Silver Wine Label Burgundy - "Sun in Splendour"

An extremely rare George III silver Armorial Wine Label, known as the "Sun in Splendour". Of cut-out form with 24 points, alternatively straight and wavy, engraved with the face of the sun and an armed foot within a garter belt incised for BURGUNDY. Representing the crest of the Blount family of Soddington, Worcestershire (Baronets). Probably made for Sir Walter Blount, 6th Baronet, perhaps on the occasion of his marriage in 1766.
