A fine and rare George III cast silver Wine Label of pierced scroll form with border of vine leaves and grapes surrounding the scrolled name plate pierced for Mountain.

The shield shaped cartouche above engraved with the complete coat of arms of Gifford, for Elizabeth Gifford, heiress.

This armorial is for Elizabeth Gifford, widow of John Gifford. She was the heiress daughter of Robert Hyde of Nerquis. John Gifford died in 1798, five years before the label was made, leaving two daughters - Elizabeth (died 1842) and Eleanor co-heiress, who died unmarried.

The main shield is azure between three stirrups with leathers, 2 and 1. It is for Gifford of Chillington, County Stafford.

The quartered shield in pretence (ie for an heiress) is azure a chevron between three lozenges or. It is for Hyde.
