An extremely rare and early Georgian silver Propelling Pencil / Porte Crayon, the barrel of cylindrical form with reeded girdles and collar to extend the pencil, the rectangular terminal formed as a hobnail cut seal and opening to reveal a miniature vinaigrette with pierced hinged grille and complete with original sponge. Silver gilt interior.
