An extremely rare George III silver gilt Armorial Mote Spoon with long plain tapering handle, the oval bowl pierced and engraved with the full Coat of Arms and crest of the family Barrett, surrounded by pierced scroll work.

Makers mark only indecipherable, London c1765

The Coat of arms of family: Barrett:-
Gules, on a chief indented argent, three escallops of the first.
Crest: A wyvern wings erect or, collared and chained azure.
Motto: Honor Virtus Probitas.
