An extremely rare George III cast silver Wine Label of oval form with raised feather edge border interspersed by four flower heads, pierced for TISANNE.

By Thomas & James Phipps, London, 1818

A misspelling of Tisane, and a previously unrecorded title, although Tisanne de Champagne has been noted.

Literature:-
"There was also the ptysanne or tisane de Champagne, of modest quality, which could be lightly foaming or with no effervescence at all; according to Chaptal, the vin de tisane was made with the second "cut" of the grapes."
