A very rare Victorian Novelty silver Propelling Pencil formed as a Presentation Trowel with shaped ivory handle. The blade of the trowel engraved with a band of foliate scroll decoration, the base stamped S. Mordan & Co with diamond registration mark for 5th December 1872. Twist mechanism to propel the pencil.
