An extremely rare Scottish Provincial silver Vinaigrette of rounded oblong form, the lid set with a polished domed striated pink colour agate stone within a cast floral and leaf border, plain waisted sides and base. The silver gilt grille pierced with a large central flower head set in a round frame with pierced holes in two diamond shaped frames either side.
Marked on inside lid and base for John Scott, Perth, c1820.
