An extremely rare Victorian 9 crt gold (tested) and ivory novelty telescopic Propelling Pencil made in the form of a Bowie Knife, complete with pierced sheath with attached suspension ring and lined with red Morocco leather.

Unmarked c1880.

Probably by Walter Thornhill & Co, Bond Street, London, who were originally Cutlers.

A silver example has been noted marked - Thornhill.
