An extremely rare Victorian parcel gilt silver combined Vinaigrette and Scent Bottle formed as a mace held by a hand in an armoured gauntlet with a vacant shield above. One end formed as a Marquis's Coronet opening to reveal a vinaigrette, the grille edged with scrolls and with a central raised cross. The other end with hinged compartment for perfume. Attached suspension ring and chain.
By Archibald Douglas, London 1871.
