An exceptionally fine and rare Victorian Provincial silver 4 dial Game Counter, of rounded rectangular form, comprising four circular calibrated gauges numbered from 0-30 to reflect the numbers of game shot. Partridges and Pheasants on one face and Rabbits and Hares to the other. The dials are operated by rotating the steel pointers held by internal ratchet mechanisms. The Partridge face carries the initials of the original owner and the Pheasant face his crest. The Rabbit and Hare faces are engraved with images of the respective animals. Fine scroll engraving between the dials. The whole is of robust construction with attachment loop to one end.
