Victorian Silver & Enamel Scots Guards Regimental Vesta Case
A rare Victorian Regimental Silver Vesta Case, of rounded rectangular form with sprung hinged lid and attached suspension ring, the face with inset enamel badge of the Scots Guards, depicting the order of the thistle star and the motto "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" on a garter surrounding a thistle. The reverse with engraved foliate scroll decoration.

The Scots Guards (SG) is the regiment of Foot Guards of Scotland, and one of the five foot guard regiments of the British Army. Its origins are as the personal bodyguard of King Charles I of England and Scotland. Its lineage can be traced back to 1642 in the Kingdom of Scotland, although it was only placed on the English Establishment in 1686.
"Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" is a famous Latin phrase translating to "No one provokes me with impunity". It is the national motto of Scotland and the Order of the Thistle.
