A good quality Victorian silver Card Case of plain rounded rectangular form with push-button sprung hinged opening mechanism and silver gilt interior. The front engraved with the Prince of Wales Feathers badge and cypher of the Dragoon Guards. The reverse engraved with two armorial crests and a monogram for JAMES MASSY-DAWSON (1857-91) of the 3rd (Prince of Wales's) Dragoon Guards.

JAMES MASSY-DAWSON (1857-91), BALLINACOURTY HOUSE, at the Glen of Aherlow, County Tipperary, originally the home of the Dawson family, passed by marriage to the Massy family, thereby becoming the seat of the Massy-Dawsons in the 18th and 19th centuries. The MASSY-DAWSONS were major landowners in County Tipperary, with 19,093 acres.
