An unusual Victorian silver Writing Box of rectangular form with all over engine turned decoration, an oval cartouche to the lid engraved with a contemporary medical presentation inscription. The silver gilt interior with four compartments for inkwell, tapers, seals and sealing wax, all covered with a leather platform holding a silver mounted ivory sliding dip pen and propelling pencil, by Sampson Mordan & Co, with screw off lid concealing a lead reservoir.
