A good William IV silver Sliding Propelling Pencil with plain ribbed barrel, the seal terminal engraved with the crest and motto of Saltmarshe, Yorkshire. The crest a ships rudder, and the motto ""Ad astra virtus"" (Virtue leads to heaven).
